R & D

Scientific Contributions

LuciSun’s tools and services are developed in close connection with research activities carried out in national, European and international R&D projects, including doctoral research and PhD theses conducted in collaboration with academic partners. These projects provide the framework in which modelling approaches, datasets and methodologies are developed, tested and challenged. The most mature and transferable results are regularly formalised and disseminated through peer reviewed scientific journals, as well as through contributions to international conferences and specialised workshops. This process allows methods developed in applied contexts to be confronted with external scientific scrutiny and to evolve beyond individual projects.

The research topics addressed at LuciSun are closely linked to the scientific foundations of its commercial solutions. They include advanced 3D photovoltaic simulation, solar resource assessment and measurement quality, quality checks for solar irradiance, meteorological and PV monitoring data, uncertainty analysis and propagation, PV performance data analytics, fault detection and diagnosis, long term PV performance evaluation, and the modelling of complex systems such as bifacial PV, building integrated photovoltaics and agrivoltaic systems. Across these domains, research activities focus on the relationship between model complexity, data quality and decision value, ensuring that tools and methods used in practice are both scientifically grounded and operationally relevant.

The scientific output associated with these activities is publicly accessible through standard academic platforms. The publication records of the researchers driving LuciSun’s R&D activities can be consulted via selected Google Scholar and ResearchGate profiles, providing transparent access to peer reviewed articles, technical reports, conference contributions and PhD theses for readers seeking more detailed information.
